Jamnagar was the capital city of Nawanagar. It hogged limelight when Dhirubhai Ambani established world’s largest refinery. Jamnagar municipality was established in 1949 and was upgraded to corporation in 1981. Both BJP and Congress are strong in Jamnagar municipal corporation.
