Assembly election schedule

    Election Commission of India (ECI) announced schedule for Assembly elections in 5 states - Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Kerala, West Bengal & Assam. Election code will come into effect immediately. Elections in Tamil Nadu, Kerala & Puducherry will be held in one phase while West Bengal elections will be held in six phases. Assam Assembly polls will be held in two phases. Kumble, Srinath won in KSCA polls

    Legendary leg-spinner Anil Kumble and fast bowler Javagal Srinath won in the KSCA elections. In a tightly contested poll, former Indian cricketers registered narrow victories over rivals. Elections for Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) were held in the evening at Chinnaswamy stadium in Bangalore.     Former Indian bowlers got the support of Vijay Mallya (Owner of Royal Bangalore Challengers) but they faced stiff competition from current President group.     Counting of votes was started at 8 PM.     Total number of votes: 1,489     KSCA election results: Anil Kumble panel won in 22 out of 24 posts.     1. Anil Kumble: KSCA President. He defeated Srikantadatta Narasimharaja Wadiyar by a margin of 50 votes. Congrats to all-time great Indian bowler.     2. Javagal Srinath: KSCA Secretary. He defeated A.V. Jayaprakasah.     3. Venkatesh Prasad: KSCA Vice-President. Roger Binny and Sadanand Mayya are other vice-presidents.     It is good to see the participation of great Indian cricketers in the administration in stead of criticising from outside. Exit poll results: Bihar Assembly elections 2010

    Bihar assembly elections were held in 6 phases and couting of votes will be on November 24. I am here updating the exit poll results.     Outcome of exit polls: Nitish Kumar will continue as Bihar chief minister. Biharis voted for development. Bihar assembly elections: Week-CVoter opinion poll

    Unlike Star News-Nielsen opinion poll, The Week-CVoter survey predicted hung assembly in Bihar. Star News survey predicted clean sweep for JD (U)-BJP alliance. According to The Week magazine opinion poll, no alliance will get magic figure of 122 Assembly seats.     But, Star News & Week are almost unanimous on Congress Party and LJP performances in 2010 Bihar Assembly elections.     Star News-Nielsen opinion poll results tremors across RJD-LJP leaders. According to the survey, Nitish Kumar mania is sweeping across the Bihar. JD (U)-BJP alliance will clean sweep in the 2010 Bihar Assembly polls. 83% polling in Valpoi Assembly by-poll

    83% of voters casted their votes in the Valpoi Assembly constituency by - election. Vishwajit Rane who elected as an independent in 2007 elections joined Congress recently and is now contesting on Congress ticket.     Total number of voters: 17,912     Votes polled: 14,881     Voting percentage: 83%. 80% of polling was recorded in 2007 elections.     Highlight: Election commission introduced Voter facilitation centre in this by-poll.     Valpoi Assembly by-election Candidates:     Congress: Vishwajit rane (health minister )     BJP: Santosh Haldankar      Trends: Congress party candidate Vishwajit Rane is expected to easily win in Valpoi by-election.     Counting of votes will be held on October 21.   … [Read more...]

Bihar poll: Fifth phase notification released

    Election Commission issued notification for the fifth phase of Assembly elections in Bihar. Elections will be held in 35 Assembly segments on November 9. Most of the areas are naxal infested places.     October 22 is the last date to file nominations while October 25 is last date for withdrawal.     Elections will held in 35 Assembly seats in Gaya, Nawada, Sheikhpura, Nalanda, Jehanabad, Bhojpur and Patna districts.     Polling time: 7 AM - 3 PM - Naxal affected places. 7 AM-5 PM in other Assembly constituencies.     Polling date is November 9 and counting of votes will be done on November 24.   … [Read more...]

CWC election schedule

    Congress party announced schedule to elect new members for Congress Working Committe (CWC). On November 2, AICC members across India will select 12 CWC members.     CWC members:     Total: 25     Ex-officio members: Party President & Prime Minister     Elected members: 12. AICC members will elect these 12 members on November 2.     Nominated members: 11. Congress Party president will nominate these members.     CWC election schedule:     November 2:     12 Noon: Nominations start     3 PM: Nominations end     4:30 PM: Contestants names will be announced     6-10 PM: Polling time     Counting of votes and winners will be announced on November 3.     According to political analysts, Congress Party never elected AICC members in an election after Sonia Gandhi took over reins.     Congress Party President will appoint PCC presidents in the next 2 weeks before conducting CWC election. Recently, Sonia Gandhi was unanimously elected as Congress Party president for fourth consecutive time. Sonia Gandhi was elected as Party president for first time in April, 1998.     Surprise: Forget about CWC members.
