Kumrahar is a historical place in Patna city (Pataliputra) which was the capital town during Maurya empire rule. Excavations by Archaeologists unearthed many findings related to Buddhism and Magadh empire.
Kumhrar is a newly formed Assembly constituency after de-limitation exercise in 2008 which was previously Patna central segment. It is one of the safest segments for BJP.
