Bodh Gaya is a famous pilgrimage centre in Gaya district where Gautam Buddha attained Enlightenment. Bodh Gaya seat is reserved for Scheduled castes and most of the villages in the constituency are Naxal affected while Bodh Gaya town is rapidly developing into a tourist hub due to influx of tourists from around the world.
After the de-limitation exercise in 2008, Bodh Gaya assembly constituency underwent massive changes. So, previous segment history is not that much relevant. BJP gradually improved its base in the segment while CPI lost most of its cadre.
