Navi Mumbai municipal election results 2010

NCP won in Navi Mumbai while Shiv Sena-BJP retained Aurangabad. Congress suffered heavy losses in Badlapur and Ambernath.

 

1. Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation: NCP won once again and Ganesh Naik retained its stronghold. NCP contests without aligning with Congress while Shiv Sena-BJP alliance failed to attract voters.

 

Surprise: MNS failed to open account in Navi Mumbai. BJP won in just 1 seat! Some Congress stalwarts lost in polls.

NCP: 55
Shiv Sena: 16
Congress: 13
BJP: 1
Independents: 4

Voting: 50%

Previous winner: NCP

 

2. Aurangabad Municipal Corporation: BJP-Shiv Sena retained.

 

Total seats: 99

Shiv Sena: 30
Congress: 19
BJP: 15
NCP: 11
City front: 3
MNS: 1
Independents: 20

Voting: 65%

Previous winner: Shiv Sena-BJP

 

3. Badlapur municipal council:

 

Total seats: 35

Without contest: 1
Shiv Sena= 12
NCP= 10
BJP= 7
MNS= 3
Congress= 1
Independent= 1

Voting: 50%

Previous winner: Shiv Sena-BJP combine

 

4. Ambernath municipal council:

 

Total seats: 50
Congress-NCP-RPI alliance: 20
Shiv Sena-BJP: 17+4 rebels
MNS: 6
Congress: 3

Voting: 50%

Previous winner: Shiv Sena – BJP
