Maharashtra Election: Exit poll Results

The assembly election in three states on Tuesday recorded heavy polling; varing from 60% in Maharashtra to 66% in Haryana and 72% in AP. Mumbai has registered the highest-ever polling in over a decade.

According to CNN-IBN and IBN LOKMAT following are result of exit poll in Maharashtra.

Alliance position:

The alliance of Congress and Nationalist Congress Party is likely to get 135 to 145 seats in the Maharashtra.

The Shiv Sena-Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) alliance is likely to get 105 to 115 seats.

Raj Thackeray’s Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) is likely to get 8 to 12 seats in the 288-seat Assembly.

Others are likely to get between 25 and 35 seats.

Parties’ position:

The Congress likely to be single largest party with 75 to 85 seats in the Assembly.

Union Agriculture Minister Sharad Pawar’s NCP is likely to win 55 to 65 seats in the elections.

The Shiv Sena is also likely to get 55 to 65 seats and its longtime partner, the BJP, is likely to between 45 and 55 seats.

The MNS, which has emerged as a rival to the Shiv Sena, may end up with 8 to 12 seats.

Others, which include smaller parties and independent candidates, may get between 25 and 35 seats.

Congress : 89
NCP : 48
Shiv Sena : 62
BJP : 51
MNS : 12
Third Front : 05
Other : 21

Polls conducted for 288 assembly seats in and results are slated to be declared Oct 22.
