India Elections: Opinion poll results

 

 

An opinion poll conducted for the October 13 assembly polls predicts that the Congress-Nationalist Congress Party combine will emerge as the biggest alliance in Maharashtra while the ruling Congress is likely to win in Haryana with a safe margin.

 

 

The survey was conducted by Star News television channel and Nielsen, with 23,122 voters in Maharashtra and 7,664 voters in Haryana. According to the survey following will be the results in two states:

 

 

Maharashtra:

 

 

Congress : 88

NCP : 52
Shiv Sena : 63
BJP : 55
MNS : 12

 

 

Polls will conduct for 288 assembly seats in Maharashtra.

 

Nearly 53% of those polled said Ashok Chavan was a good chief minister. 37% feel Vilasrao Deshmukh was the best chief minister, 19% support Chavan, 18% are with Manohar Joshi while 17% support Sushil Kumar Shinde.

 

 

Haryana:

 

 

Congress : 65


Indian National Lok Dal : 8
Haryana Janhit Congress: 8
Bahujan Samaj Party : 5
BJP : 2

 

Polls will conduct for 90-member assembly in Haryana on 13th October.

 

 

73% of the respondents felt Bhupinder Singh Hooda is a good chief minister while 70% said the performance of his government has been good. Nearly 68% feel that Hooda should be made the chief minister again.
